On April 2nd, the New York State Department of Health (DOH) posted two addendums to the Community Aging in Place - Advancing Better Living for Elders (CAPABLE) RFA # 20563 that respond to the questions submitted to the Department by HCANYS about who qualifies as an applicant for the program to provide the nursing and occupational therapy services required by the program in the home.

The New York State Department of Health Division of Vaccine Excellence (DOVE) issued a travel advisory  for all New Yorkers, with guidance before and after travel. 

 

eMedNY Update:  Important Notice About Medicaid Revalidation of Managed Care Plans
eMedNY has announced that federal regulation 42 CFR Section 455.414 requires states to periodically revalidate the enrollment of providers their Medicaid Programs, including providers enrolled as managed care plans under New York’s category of service 0220.  

 

OIG Critical of CMS’ Oversight of Medicare Cost Reports
The Office of Inspector General (OIG) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released a report indicating that Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) did not consistently comply with Medicare cost report oversight requirements. 

 

NGS Update on Provider Contact Center  
National Government Services (NGS), New York’s principal home health and hospice Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC), has announced that effective May 1, 2025, their Provider Contact Center (PCC) will service one PTAN/NPI combination per call.
