HCANYS celebrates the beautiful, inspirational and deeply impactful life of Rose Mary Baer, who last Sunday, September 20, passed to her next life, her loving family at her side.

As a nurse and a leader in population health, Rose was an impeccable clinician, leader, and educator; an impassioned advocate for patients, team members, the communities she served, and the home care field at large. Rose has been an icon in the field, and her +40 years of spirited energy, warmth, brilliance and genuine heartfelt caring is a mentorship gift staying with us all, always.

One of Rose’s closest colleagues shared these perfect sentiments:

Rose redefined the term powerhouse in all that she did, as a nurse, leader, teacher, mentor, wife, mother, colleague, friend and the list goes on. We have learned so much from her and will miss her dearly.

Rose was a long, long member of HCANYS, and her profound impact on the Association, the field, on us as colleagues and friends, on the never-ending vision of service and professional excellence to which we all are called to aspire, will go on forever.

HCANYS extends our deepest consolation to her family and loved ones, and our thanks always for the gift of Rose -- the most beautiful Rose of all.
