CMS Releases New Video Series

The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has recently posted a 9-session video series, "Getting Started with the Hospice Quality Reporting Program & Public Reporting" that includes but is not limited to an Hospice Quality Reporting Program (HQRP) overview, submission of data, some details about the Hospice Outcome and Patient Evaluation (HOPE) and Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers Survey (CAHPS) participation and submission and quality measures.
The sessions include short knowledge check quizzes and the full series takes approximately an hour to an hour and a half to complete. HCANYS hospice members are encouraged to view the full series to see whether it may be helpful for staff education and training. CMS states this resource will help hospices comply with program requirements, understand their role in public reporting, and track their own metrics to improve quality.
