DOH Commissioner Announces New Office of Health Care Delivery

On December 19, Dr. James McDonald, MD, MPH, commissioner of the Department of Health (DOH), announced the new Office of Health Care Delivery that will work alongside the Office of Health Equity and Human Rights, the Office of Public Health, and the Office of Health Insurance Programs/New York State of Health to support health care providers along the continuum of care, effective January 1, 2025.
The Office of Health Care Delivery will incorporate the Office of Aging and Long-Term Care, the Office of Primary Care and Health Systems Management, the Office of Health Facilities Management, which oversees the Veterans’ Homes and Helen Hayes Hospital, and a new Office for Provider Medical Management.
The Office of Health Care Delivery will be led by Dr. Douglas Fish as Deputy Commissioner, with Val Deetz leading the Office of Aging and Long-Term Care, Jennifer Treacy the Office of Primary Care and Health Systems Management, Ryan Ashe the Office of Health Facilities Management, and Dr. John Morley the Office for Provider Medical Management.
