NYS OMIG Selects Performant as its Recovery Audit Contractor

The Situation Report | May 5, 2025

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires New York State (NYS) Medicaid program agencies to contract with Recovery Audit Contractors (RACs) for New York’s Medicaid program integrity purposes. The State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) utilizes a vendor to facilitate activities to reduce improper payments through detection and collection of overpayments, the identification of underpayments, the reporting of suspected fraudulent and/or criminal activities, and the implementation of actions that will prevent future improper payments.

On April 7, 2025, NYS OMIG began its engagement with Performant as the NYS Medicaid program RAC.

About Performant
