Upcoming Webinar: The Partnership for Sepsis and Aging

The Situation Report | May 19, 2025

Sepsis is the body’s overwhelming response to infection that can quickly turn lethal.

The Home Care Association of New York State (HCANYS) is a committed partner with state and national advocacy organizations, Sepsis Alliance and End Sepsis, who are leading the way to combat sepsis — a national public health crisis that is the number one cause of death in hospitals and number one cause of readmissions. HCANYS equips home care providers and clinicians to do their part to Stop Sepsis at Home.

The New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA), Sepsis Alliance, the Association on Aging in New York (AgingNY), END SEPSIS and HCANYS on March 25 urged organizations to join The Partnership for Sepsis and Aging (TPSA), a newly formed national coalition that aims to prevent and stop life-threatening sepsis by raising awareness of signs, symptoms and interventions. TPSA is free to join. TPSA members are asked to broadly share free sepsis prevention and awareness resources and join meetings for information sharing.

Join us virtually on May 21st at 1pm as we hear from special guest Lisa Gorski, Editor of Home Healthcare Now, and another special guest to share their sepsis story.
