Recorded Trainings Available: Co-Occurring Mental/Behavioral and Physical Health
The Situation Report | June 23, 2025
Through a grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, titled Addressing Health Disparities through Home Care, the Home Care Association Education and Research (HCA E&R), in partnership with the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and the Finger Lakes Geriatric Education Center of the University of Rochester Medical Center (FLGEC-URMC), have three special trainings available for staff of home care agencies, hospice, managed long term care (MLTC), and other community mental and behavioral health providers.
These trainings advance the skills and knowledge of staff for the care and support of patients who have co-occurring mental/behavioral health and physical health conditions.

- Accessing Mental Health Services for Additional Support
Understanding Health and Mental Health:
- Overview of Serious Mental Illness (SMI)
- Psychotropic Medications
Improving Communication and Addressing Crisis:
- Communication Approaches for Clients with SMI
- Crisis Intervention
